Embroidery - A Learning Process

For Christmas in 2024, I asked for a sewing machine. I just asked for a reasonable one that did some decorative stitches, nothing crazy. But my amazing husband Bryan had a different idea. He knew I liked doing vinyl on clothes, but that it could be rather temporary. So he suggested an embroidery machine.

January 2025, I got the machine. I couldn't wait to get started!

1st project!

Success! Actually went pretty smoothly.

Shortly after, my sister had a baby! The best way for me to learn a new skill, is to apply it. And what better way than to make a bunch of gifts for a new baby boy!

Here's where things get interesting. All of my projects so far were small and simple. I had a big idea....and I made some big mistakes.

Not only is everything very misaligned....but the material also folded into the machine and I had to cut it out. There's a hole in the second 2.

I made progress! Still misaligned but nowhere near as bad. And no holes!

Here's the final project! I love how they turned out.

And then a friend commissioned me to do the same thing. I have learned so much already and these went a lot smoother than the first batch!
